This is a repair service where we replace the flat battery in your game cart. You send them in, we fix them up. Yes, we also supply the battery! We recommend sending in a few at a time.

When you save the game progress in some old retro video game carts, they use an internal battery to keep the save on a chip. This chip will erase itself if the battery goes flat and dies. We can replace this battery and restore the save game functionality of your favourite game, however the saves themselves will be lost.

The type of battery does vary quite a lot, so see the dropdown menu for your game type. We recommend ordering a few games to be restored at a time to maximise your shipping.

CR2032 tabbed

Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Master System, Mega Drive and 32X games use a CR2032 battery with solder tabs.

CR1616 tabbed

These are tiny batteries used only for Game Boy Advance games. They are typically used in Pokémon Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby, Puzzle Challenge, Yellow, and Trading Card Edition plus many other Game Boy games.

CR2025 tabbed

These batteries are used only for Game Boy Color/Original Game Boy Games.

Non battery save problems

If you have a game cartridge that doesn't save and it doesn't use a battery, then there's something else going on that needs a deeper investigation. For this instance buy the option lanbelled "Other non-battery problem"

3. Post in your console, the kit, accessories and a test game.
4. We repair your console.
5. We post your console back to you with the prepaid shipping costs from checkout.

Who pays for postage?

• You organise postage and ship your console in.
• We calculate the return postage at checkout and this is how we get it back to you.
